On June tenth, a dramatic rescue unfolded in Cabo Roig when Guardia Civil officers received reports of a Danish man who had fallen from a cliff and became trapped. At one forty in the afternoon, they were alerted to the challenging situation unfolding between the breakwater and Cala Caleta beach. A local woman assisted the officers by guiding them to the difficult-to-access area where the victim lay.

The officers encountered immediate challenges as they approached the scene, with the steep, wet terrain complicating rescue efforts. The rising tide posed a further threat, adding urgency to the situation. Despite these difficulties, the Guardia Civil personnel pressed on and reached the injured man, working with the first firefighters on the scene to secure him in a safer position on the rocky coastline.

By two pm, multiple emergency services had arrived, including Orihuela Costa Local Police, amplifying the coordinated rescue effort. Together, they secured the victim to a stretcher and began the careful ascent up the eight-metre cliff face. The demanding operation required the cooperation of all rescue personnel involved.

Once they successfully reached the top, the team carried the stretcher approximately six hundred metres uphill to an accessible evacuation point. There, the injured man was transferred to medics and taken to Torrevieja Hospital for further care.
