A collaborative effort between the National Police and Local Police in Elche has resulted in the seizure of over one thousand luxury items that are believed to be counterfeit. The operation culminated in the arrest of a forty-three-year-old man suspected of committing a crime against industrial and intellectual property.

The investigation began during a routine inspection at a goods transport company, where officers discovered nineteen boxes containing one thousand one hundred sixty-eight counterfeit products. These included various bags and wallets that closely resembled items from prominent luxury brands.

Following the initial discovery, National Police agents were called to the scene to confiscate the merchandise and initiated an investigation to identify and apprehend the recipient of these counterfeit goods. The suspect has since been presented before the Elche Magistrate’s Court after the relevant police procedures.

The investigation remains open as authorities aim to trace the legal representatives of the affected brands and uncover the origin of the counterfeit items. This operation demonstrates the commitment of law enforcement agencies to protect intellectual and industrial property rights while combatting illegal trade that negatively impacts both consumers and legitimate businesses.
