A tragic incident unfolded near the General Hospital of Alicante on Friday afternoon, resulting in the death of a twenty year old man and injuries to another individual from a stabbing. The altercation took place just before six o’clock in the Plaza de la Cruz Roja, located close to the hospital’s main entrance on Pintor Baeza Street. Reports indicate that several people had gathered in the area prior to the confrontation.

In addition, a third individual arrived at the emergency room with multiple facial injuries, prompting the National Police to investigate any potential connections with the events that transpired. Witnesses have suggested the presence of this third injured party, who had not received medical assistance at the hospital.

After the fight, a small group of individuals fled the scene in a vehicle, leaving the victims to seek medical help. Tragically, one of them collapsed on the way to the hospital and, despite rapid medical attention, succumbed to his injuries.

The National Police are actively collecting information regarding the incident, including accounts from witnesses, the individuals involved, and DNA evidence from a knife purportedly discarded in the park where the altercation occurred. This violent incident follows closely after a shooting earlier in the week in the Virgen del Remedio neighbourhood, which involved individuals of Arab descent and resulted in another stabbing injury.
