The National Police have arrested a forty-seven-year-old man in Murcia on suspicion of being responsible for five thefts. The suspect is accused of stealing tip jars from several hair salons in the city. Police were alerted when salon managers filed reports about a man who approached them under the pretext of booking a haircut. Using distractions, he took tip jars and concealed them in his jacket before leaving the premises.

An investigation led to the discovery of three additional salons where the man employed the same method to steal tip jars. In a further troubling twist, he is also suspected of stealing donations meant for the Spanish Association Against Cancer that were collected in a charity box at a bank.

The swift work of the police, including reviewing security camera footage and gathering statements from witnesses, allowed them to identify and apprehend the suspect shortly after the crimes were committed. The arrested individual, a Spanish national, has a lengthy criminal record with multiple previous offences.

Following his arrest, the man has been placed at the disposal of the judicial authority and investigations are ongoing to determine if there are more victims associated with his thefts.
