Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport has set a new record, welcoming one million one hundred sixty-six thousand seven hundred eighty-nine passengers in February. This figure marks a sixteen point four percent increase compared to the same month last year, and follows a strong start to twenty twenty-five, where the airport surpassed one million passengers in January.

Most of the February traffic came from international flights, with a seventeen point six percent rise in international passengers, totalling nine hundred ninety-nine thousand twenty-two. Domestic travel also increased, with one hundred sixty-six thousand nine hundred ninety-one travellers, marking a nine point eight percent rise. The United Kingdom remained the largest market with three hundred sixty-one thousand eighty-six passengers.

In addition to passenger numbers, Alicante-Elche Airport managed seven thousand five hundred seventy-five flight operations in February, which is an eighteen point nine percent increase from the previous year. Over the first two months of twenty twenty-five, the airport recorded two million two hundred twenty-four thousand three passengers overall, a thirteen point four percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Aena Group’s airports also showed positive trends, with twenty-four million five hundred thirty-seven thousand one hundred thirty-four passengers recorded in February, representing a four point four percent rise from last year. This growth extends to aircraft movements and cargo transport as well, demonstrating an overall recovery and growth in air travel.
