La Glea Beach in the Campoamor urbanisation will host the 13th Playas de Orihuela Triathlon on 23 May, one of the standout events in the local and regional sporting calendar. This year’s edition includes a round of the Valencian Triathlon Federation’s Club League for first and third division teams, as well as the first inter-regional meeting between clubs from the Valencian Community and Murcia.

The sprint-distance race features a 750-metre swim, a 20 km cycle and a 5 km run, with the старт scheduled for 16:30. The entire course will take place within Campoamor. Organisers expect more than 300 participants, including individual athletes and federated teams.

Sports councillor Víctor Sigüenza has described the event as one of the most demanding in the municipal calendar and thanked Club Tragamillas, security services, volunteers and sponsors for their support. Federation official Ximo Rubert said the Valencian league is one of the strongest in Spain, with three structured divisions and promotion and relegation.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three men’s and women’s teams in the first and third divisions, the leading Murcia teams and the top three overall finishers in the Open category. Registration remains open until 19 May at 23:59 via the Club Tragamillas website.
