Almoradí Town Council has presented new bins and collection vehicles as part of a wide-ranging upgrade to its municipal waste and street cleaning service. The initiative forms part of a ten-year contract awarded to PreZero and is designed to modernise the system and improve the separation of waste fractions across the town.

The plan includes the replacement of 228 general waste containers and the provision of new bins for businesses in industrial estates and outlying rural areas. The workforce will increase from 18 to 27 staff, covering both street cleaning and refuse collection. New equipment includes two refuse lorries, two electric open-back trucks, a bin-washing vehicle, a high-pressure cleaning van, two road sweepers and additional specialist machinery.

Mayor María Gómez said the council is taking an important step in improving an essential daily service. She added that the rollout will be carried out transparently, with clear information to help residents adapt to the new system.

The phased introduction will also include public information campaigns, new digital tools and the future opening of a permanent recycling centre through the regional consortium. A dedicated public information office is expected to open shortly to answer residents’ questions.
