Two women have been arrested in Santa Pola, Alicante, for allegedly practising as doctors without holding qualifications recognised in Spain. The Guardia Civil said the main suspect treated patients both at their homes and at her own property, carrying out invasive procedures without medical supervision.

Investigators said she administered psychotropic substances and other compounds intravenously, as well as offering anti-ageing treatments. Officers believe the medicines were obtained through forged prescriptions and shipments from abroad, allowing them to be supplied outside legal channels.

A second woman was identified during what police called Operation Ribosoma. She is accused of producing false medical prescriptions used to purchase medicines from pharmacies.

The main suspect faces allegations of professional misconduct, document forgery, offences against public health, fraud and theft. The second woman is accused of document forgery. Both appeared before a court and were released with precautionary measures. So far, five patients have been identified, although investigators believe there may be more affected.
