Torrevieja Council has approved the award of contracts for major resurfacing and accessibility works across the municipality, with a total investment of €6,368,670. The project is divided into two lots covering the southern and northern zones of the town.

Lot 1, worth €3,259,150.47, has been awarded to Pavasal Empresa Constructora S.A.U. It includes the resurfacing of 171,273 square metres across 57 streets and avenues. Improvements include accessibility upgrades in Mar Azul and the Acequión area, as well as a new deceleration lane from the CV-95 providing direct access to Torrevieja University Hospital to ease congestion at the existing roundabout.

Lot 2, valued at €3,109,520.03, has been awarded to Eiffage Infraestructuras S.A. It covers 156,256 square metres of resurfacing on 66 streets and avenues. Works will focus on Pedro Lorca Street, areas around the Acequión and Inmaculada primary schools, and the redevelopment of Áncora Street, including pavement widening, new LED lighting and underground telecommunications cabling.

Councillor for Infrastructure Sandra Sánchez said the works are expected to take 24 weeks, or around six months, from the signing of the initial works certificate. A one-year guarantee period will begin once the project has been completed and formally received.
