A new section of cycle lane linking Playa de la Hita with Avenida Radiobaliza Óscar was officially opened on Thursday 23 April, following the completion of the first phase of works.
The 490-metre bidirectional lane is two metres wide and runs along the outer walkway of the seafront promenade. The scheme aims to improve connections for cyclists while organising the shared use of the promenade and encouraging safer coexistence between pedestrians and bikes.
A bicycle repair station has already been installed along the route, and additional cycle parking stands are due to be made available shortly. The project forms part of a wider plan supported by European Union Next Generation funding.
