An investigation is under way after two workers were killed in an accident at an 18-storey tower in Benidorm on Wednesday. One of the men was a resident of Santomera. The incident has prompted a detailed inquiry into workplace safety conditions at the site.
Early indications point to a possible mechanical failure in the lifting platform system. According to the testimony of the only survivor, the platform’s motor activated suddenly when it should not have done, leading to the fatal incident.
Authorities are now examining the equipment and reviewing safety procedures to establish the precise cause. Further findings are expected once technical inspections have been completed.
