Business representatives in La Manga have urged authorities to introduce stricter monitoring of jet skis operating in the Mar Menor. The issue was raised during a meeting held on Tuesday between the Government Delegate for the Region, Francisco Lucas, and members of the La Manga Business Association.

The discussion focused on several of the tourism sector’s main concerns, particularly coastal planning and maritime safety. Entrepreneurs said stronger regulation and visible enforcement are needed to protect both visitors and the natural environment.

They also highlighted the importance of clear rules and improved oversight as the area prepares for the peak tourist season. The Mar Menor remains one of the Region’s main attractions, and business leaders say safety and environmental protection are essential to maintaining its reputation.

The meeting forms part of ongoing dialogue between local authorities and the private sector aimed at supporting tourism and ensuring sustainable use of the coastline.
