Torrevieja’s Department of Local Police has confirmed that drainage works resumed at 10:00 on Wednesday on Ramón Gallud Street, at its junction with María Parodi. The works, being carried out by Agamed, are expected to continue until mid-June.

Traffic in the affected section will be diverted for the duration of the project. Cars, motorbikes and personal mobility vehicles must turn towards the seafront via Azorín Street or continue along Joaquín Chapaprieta Street. Lorries, heavy goods vehicles and buses are not permitted to use this stretch and must divert via Orihuela Street.

The bus stop located near Hotel Fontana has been temporarily suspended while the works are under way. Local Police have asked for public cooperation, urging drivers to respect temporary signage and plan journeys in advance to avoid disruption.

The PSOE spokesperson in Torrevieja, Bárbara Soler, has criticised the council and bus operator Avanza, claiming that during a recent pause in the works over Easter, passengers were not informed that services at the Hotel Fontana stop had not resumed, leaving many waiting unnecessarily.
