Seven people, including a child, have suffered minor injuries after part of a hotel roof collapsed in Benidorm, in the province of Alicante.
The emergency call was received at around 2.20pm on Sunday. According to the Emergency Information and Co-ordination Centre, medical teams treated five men and two women at the scene for contusions.
An eight-year-old child and a 78-year-old man were discharged at the scene. The remaining five patients, aged between 33 and 80, were taken to the ClÃnica de Benidorm and the Marina Baixa Hospital for further treatment.
Authorities deployed SAMU advanced life support units, basic life support ambulances and non-assisted transport vehicles. The Red Cross also assisted with the response. The cause of the collapse has not yet been confirmed.
