Torrevieja has once again been named the most transparent municipality in the Valencian Community after achieving 85.8% in the latest DYNTRA transparency ranking. The result also moves the town up to 22nd place nationally, a significant rise from its previous position of 167th.

Innovation councillor Ricardo Recuero said the progress reflects sustained work to improve public access to information, accountability and administrative modernisation. He described the ranking as evidence of the council’s commitment to citizen participation, efficient public management and institutional transparency.

DYNTRA assesses a range of areas linked to public governance, including citizen participation, financial transparency, public procurement, urban planning and access to open data. Torrevieja achieved 100% in categories such as organisational information, municipal assets, accounting and budget transparency, income and expenditure reporting, and public service contracting. It also scored 96.3% in economic and financial transparency and 95% in urban planning and public works.

The council said the development of its Municipal Transparency Portal has been key to the improvement, making public information more accessible and strengthening communication with residents. Officials have confirmed they will continue promoting digital innovation and open government initiatives to maintain and further improve transparency standards.
