Plans are progressing for a new two-kilometre cycle lane along the CV-943 in Los Montesinos, aimed at promoting safer and more sustainable travel in the area.

Alicante Provincial Council has opened the tender process for the design of the route, which will run from Avenida de La Marquesa to the junction with San Miguel. The stretch is regularly used by cyclists from the town and surrounding communities but also carries heavy daily traffic.

Once completed, the new section will connect with an existing stretch approved last year between the La Marquesa junction and Los Florentiles. Together, the two routes are expected to form a more complete and practical cycling network.

Mayor José Manuel Butrón has said the project forms part of wider policies to promote sustainable, safe and efficient mobility. Local leaders hope construction will begin without unnecessary delays once the design phase is complete, with many residents already describing the പദ്ധ as a much-needed improvement.
