A joint operation by Torrevieja’s Local Police and the Guardia Civil has resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of counterfeit goods during a crackdown on illegal street selling.

The operation, coordinated by the council’s Department of Local Police and Security, involved 27 officers, including members of the Guardia Civil’s USECIC unit. Officers identified several unauthorised sales points, and those responsible fled the scene, abandoning their merchandise when they became aware of the police presence.

Seized items included counterfeit belts, sports shirts, children’s sports kits, sweatshirts, trainers, handbags and wallets. The council has said such goods breach current regulations and harm both consumers and legitimate traders.

Torrevieja Town Hall has highlighted the strong coordination between the two forces, stating that continued joint operations are essential to protect the local economy, maintain order in busy public areas and ensure residents and visitors can shop with confidence.
