Several social groups in Torrevieja have called a public demonstration on Saturday 21 March at 12:00 on the Paseo Juan Aparicio, opposite the town’s natural pools, to protest against the military escalation in the Middle East.
Organisers say the aim is to highlight growing concern over the impact of the conflict on civilian populations and to denounce the lack of progress towards a peaceful solution. They have also warned that the consequences of the crisis are already being felt locally, particularly through rising energy and fuel prices.
During the gathering, a manifesto will be read out calling for an immediate end to military action and a clear commitment to diplomacy as the only viable route to resolving the conflict. The groups behind the initiative are urging residents to attend in support of peace and international justice.
