It has been fifteen months since the Regional Ministry of Education and Cartagena City Council announced the publication of a tender to draft a comprehensive renovation project for the infant section of CEIP San Isidoro and Santa Florentina, known locally as La Casa del Niño.
In June 2025, the contract to prepare the plans was awarded to Santa Cruz Arquitectos for 143,000 euros. Since then, the completed project has been awaiting the next administrative step.
The building is owned by the Regional Government, which must now launch the tender process for the execution of the works. Until that happens, the long-planned refurbishment of the historic nursery school remains on hold.
