A man has been arrested after a violent robbery at a petrol station in San Miguel de Salinas.
According to the Local Police, the suspect entered the premises armed with a sharp object and threatened an employee who was working at the time. He stole money from the cash register before leaving the scene.
Officers immediately launched an investigation and identified the vehicle used in the escape. The town’s municipal traffic surveillance system, which can detect passing vehicles and accurately record registration numbers, vehicle type, make and colour, enabled police to track the suspect.
The investigation led officers to Cartagena, in the neighbouring Region of Murcia, where the alleged offender was arrested. Local Police said the combination of security technology and swift police action was crucial in resolving the case quickly.
