National Police have freed five women who were being sexually exploited in a brothel in Torre Pacheco and have arrested the alleged owner. The man is suspected of offences related to prostitution, facilitating illegal immigration and violating workers’ rights.

The investigation began in March 2025 after a woman contacted police to say she was being exploited at the property, along with other young women. She reported that they were not free to come and go, were forced to drink alcohol with clients and had to remain available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Officers confirmed that surveillance cameras had been installed throughout the building and that recordings of sexual services were allegedly distributed online as pornographic content. The women were also fined for breaking internal rules, such as refusing clients or leaving without permission, and were required to hand over half of their earnings.

The operation concluded in February with an inspection of the premises, where four additional victims were identified. The women have received support from APRAMP, an organisation assisting women affected by prostitution. Police say enquiries are ongoing to identify other possible victims and have urged anyone with information to come forward confidentially.
