A driver has been arrested after travelling without one wheel on the N-332 from Torrevieja, creating what police described as a serious danger to other road users.
Several witnesses alerted the authorities after spotting the vehicle being driven in a hazardous condition. A patrol from the Local Police in Guardamar del Segura was the first to locate the car, following a tip-off from a member of the public.
The Guardia Civil then attended the scene and worked alongside local officers. The driver underwent a breath test and recorded a reading of 0.85 mg/l, well above the legal alcohol limit. Officers have confirmed that this level constitutes a criminal offence.
Guardamar del Segura Local Police have thanked members of the public for their cooperation, saying the prompt alert was crucial in stopping a driver who posed a clear risk on the road.
