Torrevieja Council has continued an extensive clean-up operation in parks and gardens following severe storms in recent weeks. Strong winds and persistent rainfall led to fallen branches, damaged trees and significant accumulations of vegetation across green areas in the municipality.

The Department of Parks and Gardens, led by Concha Sala, activated a review and recovery plan as soon as the bad weather subsided. Crews have been removing damaged trees and branches to ensure public safety, particularly in parks, children’s play areas and along promenades.

Teams are also carrying out technical inspections to assess the structural stability of trees and reduce any future risk. In addition, repairs are under way to irrigation systems and street furniture affected by the wind and rain.

The council has said the work will continue over the coming days until all affected areas have been fully checked. Officials say the aim is not only to restore the usual appearance of the town’s green spaces, but also to safeguard Torrevieja’s natural heritage and maintain safe, high-quality environments for residents and visitors.
