The Town Hall of Los Alcázares and the Asociación Prometeo have once again launched the “Crecemos Juntos” – or “Growing Together” – initiative, aimed at encouraging young people to take an active role in protecting the local environment.
The scheme gives children the opportunity to “adopt” a tree, which will be marked with a plaque bearing their name. By doing so, participants make a personal commitment to caring for nature and helping to improve the appearance of the municipality.
This year’s planting activity will take place on Sunday 22nd February, although the exact venue has yet to be confirmed. Organisers say places filled up quickly last year and are encouraging families to register as soon as possible.
The initiative forms part of wider efforts in Los Alcázares to promote environmental awareness and community involvement among younger residents.
