A man has been detained following a theft at the Dos Mares shopping centre in San Javier.
Local Police were called shortly before 8pm on Monday after security staff at the Pull & Bear store reported they were holding a suspect. The alert was raised through the 112 emergency number.
The man admitted he had used scissors to cut security tags from several T-shirts and pairs of trousers in the changing rooms. He told officers he had been accompanied by a woman, who is known to staff from previous similar incidents, and her son. The woman fled when the alarms were triggered, while he remained at the scene.
Store employees estimated the value of the stolen clothing at just over 100 euros. The incident has been reported to the Guardia Civil in San Javier.
