An investigation into the brutal dragging of Swedish citizen Christian Pikulak in Torrevieja has taken a decisive turn, Svenska Magasinet reports. Two people have been remanded in provisional custody, and two others remain under police surveillance as the Guardia Civil and Policía Nacional press ahead with the case after weeks of joint work on the Costa Blanca. The outlet says the events unfolded on Pedro Lorca Street in Torrevieja in early October.

The investigation recounts that, as the couple walked along Pedro Lorca Street, a vehicle stopped to ask for directions. When Mr Pikulak drew out his mobile, one occupant seized the phone and held him as the car accelerated, dragging him about thirty metres until he crashed into a rubbish container. The breakthrough came from the stolen phone’s signal; geolocation via Find My iPhone showed movement toward Alicante, allowing officers to narrow the search area.

Following the latest lines of enquiry, a rental car used in the incident was identified and recovered in Alicante, where fingerprints linked the suspects to the crime. After several weeks, three people were arrested in Alicante, and at least one more has been identified but is believed to have left Spain. Of those detained, two men aged twenty-one and twenty-two have been remanded in provisional custody on charges including homicide, robbery, failure to render assistance, road-safety offences and membership of a criminal organisation.

Christian Pikulak’s partner has posted a firm statement to clarify what happened. She says he did not grasp the car voluntarily; instead, the attackers seized his arm and his phone, making it impossible for him to hold on at speed. ‘He was dragged and held. This was a brutal and cold murder. I hope justice is done,’ she wrote, urging people to share their support. The case is being handled by the Torrevieja Court Number Four.
