Cartagena’s town hall has announced that the Christmas season will be launched on December fifth at seven in the evening with a drone light show from the harbour esplanade. A total of two hundred and twenty drones and eighteen pyrodrones will form a Christmas tale in the sky, creating thirteen shapes visible from the harbour to the seafront. Mayor Noelia Arroyo says the city is at the start of its most magical time of year and promises a Christmas experience like never seen before in Cartagena.

Before the aerial spectacle, the Russingers choir from Russin Vocal Studio will perform at seven in the evening. The ensemble blends gospel, soul and funk, and with more than fifteen voices will perform festive favourites and a carefully chosen mix of international pop-rock and gospel tunes.

Illumination across the municipality will stay in place until January seventh, 2026, with the historic centre, the Ensanche, Litoral and outlying districts each displaying mid- and large-format motifs. Highlights include bells, Christmas baubles, presents, a Reyes Magos figure taller than eight metres, wreaths over four metres and shooting stars. The grand finale will be a pyrotechnic display accompanying the start of Cartagena’s festive season.
