The Guardia Civil has dismantled a youth criminal group in San Javier and arrested six people, including a minor, on suspicion of belonging to a criminal gang, robberies with force, thefts from inside vehicles and receiving stolen goods. The operation, named Rolcar, has so far linked more than twenty offences across San Javier, Los Alcázares and Pilar de la Horadada. The case began after a notable rise in thefts from vehicles, which sparked concern among local residents. Investigators say the early data suggested a sizeable, mobile group that operated across several towns, using force with speed to avoid detection. Deliberately active at night, the gang would drive the streets in search of parked cars, break their windows and seize valuables such as cameras, mobile phones, sunglasses and cash. Police also set up checks on second‑hand shops to trace stolen items, allowing some of the goods to be recovered. Following the inquiry, authorities identified a group of youths based in San Javier and Los Alcázares and launched a targeted search on the six suspects, some of them under the age of eighteen. The operation continues as investigators work to link further incidents. To date, they have accounted for twenty‑one crimes: fifteen robberies with force and six thefts from vehicles.
