The town hall of Almoradí has officially opened a new carpool parking facility, which is now fully operational and holds the title of the largest in the Valencian Community. With one hundred and thirty-one designated spaces for carpooling, this infrastructure represents an investment of six hundred and forty-five thousand euros. It is strategically located at the junction of the CV-912 and the AP-7, serving thousands of daily trips between Almoradí, Daya Nueva, and Dolores.

Vicente Martínez Mus, the second vice president and Minister for Environment, Infrastructure, and Territory, announced that this car park will significantly enhance regional mobility by providing a secure, orderly, and accessible area for shared vehicle use. He emphasised its importance in fostering sustainable transport and noted that the design of the facility resembles an artichoke, a nod to Almoradí’s agricultural and cultural emblem.

Mayor María Gómez expressed gratitude for the investment, highlighting its positive impact on the daily lives of residents in the heavily populated Vega Baja region. She stated, “This parking facility connects us and makes it easier to share cars, save costs, reduce emissions, and make our mobility more sustainable.” The mayor also pointed out that Almoradí has long advocated for infrastructures that enhance connectivity with neighbouring municipalities like Rojales, Algorfa, and Dolores.

The parking facility is equipped with modern lighting, renewed landscaping, appropriate signage, spaces reserved for individuals with reduced mobility, and areas for both carpooling and casual gathering. Currently, Alicante province hosts five similar carparks, and the Valencian Government plans to expand this model to additional municipalities as part of its sustainable mobility strategy. The town hall aims to continue collaborating with the Valencian Government to establish Almoradí as a leader in sustainable mobility and infrastructure development.
