The Consell has authorised significant modifications to the contract concerning the construction of a new Wastewater Treatment Plant in Almoradí. This change was necessitated by unforeseen requirements and involves an additional budget of two million nine hundred and thirty-nine thousand seven hundred and sixty-four euros, raising the total contract budget to twenty-one million nine hundred and forty-one thousand two hundred and ninety-seven euros.

The modifications include plans for a pumping station and infrastructure to transport wastewater from Almoradí and El Saladar to the new plant. The facility is designed to cater to forty-one thousand four hundred residents, boosting the treatment capacity to six thousand cubic metres per day, which equates to one point nineteen hectometres cubic annually.

The new plant will adhere to strict standards to prevent odours and noise pollution, featuring adequately deodorised and soundproofed buildings. It will also implement tertiary treatment for water reuse in agriculture, a significant upgrade over the existing facilities in the area.

Financed in part by the European Union through the Operational Programme of the European Regional Development Fund for the Valencian Community from two thousand twenty-one to two thousand twenty-seven, these changes further demonstrate the Generalitat’s commitment to enhancing hydraulic infrastructures and sustainable water management in the region, complying with environmental regulations while modernising wastewater treatment in the Vega Baja.
