The Guardia Civil of the Region of Murcia has concluded the second phase of Operation ‘Crepúsculo’, successfully dismantling a criminal group responsible for residential burglaries across multiple towns, including Lorca, Puerto Lumbreras, and Aguilas, as well as areas in the neighbouring province of Alicante. Investigators have clarified around fifty crimes committed since late twenty twenty-three.

The operation began following an increase in burglaries, particularly in the regions of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras, which raised public concern. The perpetrators conducted prior reconnaissance of their targets, ensuring the absence of occupants before accessing properties by breaching perimeter fencing and forcing security systems.

Authorities reported that once inside, the culprits often ransacked the premises for cash and jewellery, occasionally stealing technological equipment. As the investigation progressed, various other crimes were linked to the same group, allowing investigators to establish patterns in their behaviour and movements during the break-ins.

In February twenty twenty-five, investigators observed a vehicle linked to the suspects in Lorca. Working closely with the Local Police, they set up surveillance that led to the arrest of three individuals following a reckless high-speed chase. The officers are continuing their investigation to clarify all crimes attributed to this dismantled group.
