Los Arcos University Hospital has been distinguished in the ranking of ‘Top Twenty Hospitals’ in Spain for its excellence in neurology, standing out among more than one hundred and eighty healthcare facilities. This recognition was awarded at a national gala held in Madrid on October sixteenth as part of a programme evaluating hospitals’ performances across various clinical areas.

The neurology unit at Los Arcos has been acknowledged for its comprehensive approach, prioritising quality and humanisation in patient care. Isabel Ayala, the manager of the Murcian Health Service, expressed pride in this achievement, emphasising that it is the result of the continuous dedication and daily efforts of the entire neurology team, whose primary objective is to place the patient at the centre of their actions.

For the past twenty-five years, the ‘Top Twenty Hospitals’ initiative has been assessing, comparing, and identifying best practices in healthcare institutions to enhance their service outcomes. The programme evaluates key indicators of quality, functionality, and efficiency within organisations, highlighting the best performers among them.

The assessment involves the analysis of thirty clinical processes comprising over one hundred and twenty indicators, distributed across eight clinical areas. These areas include the nervous system, respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, musculoskeletal, kidneys and urinary tract, women’s health, and critical patient care. Since its inception in 2000, more than two hundred and fifty public and private hospitals from across the country have participated. This achievement reaffirms the commitment of Los Arcos Hospital to quality care, innovation, and continuous improvement, as concluded by Ayala.
