A twenty-four-year-old pregnant woman was found unconscious in her home in Yecla due to a gas leak this afternoon. In an attempt to protect herself and her young child from the overpowering smell, the pair moved to the balcony. Emergency services were promptly alerted, including firefighters from the Consortium of Fire Extinction and Rescue and local police officers.
Upon arrival, the emergency responders discovered the woman on the floor and immediately requested medical assistance. A Mobile Emergency Unit from the Health Emergency and Response Management attended to her before transporting her to Virgen del Castillo Hospital in Yecla for further treatment.
Authorities confirmed the child, who was also present during the incident, did not require hospitalisation. Firefighters are currently investigating the source of the gas leak to ensure the safety of the surrounding area.
