La Guardia Civil has arrested two men, aged twenty-five and thirty-three, in Torrevieja on suspicion of multiple offences, including drug trafficking, reckless driving, and assaulting a police officer. This intervention came after a perilous chase through the town, culminating in the seizure of approximately nine hundred and seventy-eight grams of hashish.

The events occurred on the thirteenth of October, when a patrol from the Torrevieja Citizen Security Unit was conducting preventive activities along one of the town’s main avenues. When officers spotted a suspicious vehicle, they initiated discreet surveillance. Upon noticing the police presence, the occupants of the vehicle responded with evasive maneuvers and began driving in a zig-zag pattern, endangering other road users.

Given the severity of the situation, officers instructed the vehicle to stop, but the driver ignored the order and fled at high speed. During the escape, the vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane several times and struck a pedestrian, who sustained minor injuries. The pursuit ended when the vehicle collided with two parked cars.

After the impact, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, leaving behind the sandals they had been wearing. During the escape, one of the men discarded a green rectangular package containing ten wraps of hashish. Both suspects were eventually located and arrested after a search operation. One suspect resisted violently and assaulted an officer, who suffered minor injuries. Authorities seized two mobile phones, three hundred and five euros in cash, and the vehicle used in the escape. The detainees have been released with precautionary measures by the Torrevieja Investigating Court, with the Guardia Civil highlighting the importance of preventive operations in citizen security across the Alicante province.
