Torrevieja is set to host the seventeenth World Club Fishing Championship from the first to the eighth of November twenty twenty-five. The championship will take place at the Marina Internacional Nautical Club and is being organised in collaboration with the Sports Department of the Town Hall of Torrevieja. The event is expected to attract fishing enthusiasts from different countries and will feature a variety of competitive activities.

An official presentation was held on Thursday, thirtieth of October, twenty twenty-five, attended by key figures including Antonio Vidal, the Fishing Councillor of Torrevieja, and José Segura, the president of the Valencian Community Fishing Federation. They announced that the championship will see eighteen teams and a total of ninety anglers representing five countries: Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Portugal.

The participating Spanish clubs include the Marina Internacional, Tecnopesca Alicante, Tubertini Ibérica, Club Campos Alqueira Palma, and Bahía de Guardamar. France will be represented by the Club Halieutis La Ciotat, while Italy will present six teams. Switzerland’s team will be the Club Genevois de Pêche en Mer, and Portugal will have five clubs including G.D. “Os Amarelos” and C.N. Nazaré.

The competitive events will unfold along the coastline of Torrevieja, with the programme commencing with a welcome for participants on the first of November. Noteworthy highlights include a ceremonial opening on the second of November and the closing ceremony followed by an awards presentation on the seventh of November. This international event further cements Torrevieja’s status as a leading location for top-level nautical competitions, enhancing the city’s international profile and boosting sports tourism.
