The National Police have detained two men, aged thirty-eight and forty-one, in Alicante, believed to be responsible for the murder of a thirty-seven-year-old woman. The victim’s body was discovered concealed in her home, where it had remained for two weeks. Authorities suspect the motive behind the crime is economic.

The police were informed of the situation last Friday when a man approached the Provincial Police Station in Alicante, claiming that two acquaintances attempted to involve him in the murder. According to his testimony, they planned to dispose of the body and promised him money in exchange for his assistance.

Upon receiving this information, the police initiated their violent crime protocol and dispatched homicide detectives to the alleged crime scene to verify the report. At the residence, officers uncovered the deceased woman, who had likely been dead for several days. A knife was found on-site, which may be the murder weapon, as the subsequent autopsy revealed signs of violence consistent with stabbing.

Investigators quickly located the suspects at a local hotel and conducted surveillance before apprehending them as they attempted to flee the city in a vehicle. The driver was found to be unlicensed. During the arrest, officers confiscated cash, gold jewellery, and illegal substances exceeding personal use quantities. Investigations revealed that one suspect had been romantically involved with the victim, who had recently inherited a significant sum of money, potentially providing a financial motive for the murder.
