The National Police have arrested a fifty-year-old woman in Orihuela, suspected of a continual theft offense. Employed at a clothing store, she allegedly stole recognised brand items for several years to sell online. The total value of the stolen goods amounts to twenty-nine thousand six hundred and ninety-two euros.

The fraud was uncovered after company officials detected discrepancies following a customer’s attempt to return an unregistered item. A comprehensive inventory check revealed that the employee, who had worked at the store for three years, had been stealing merchandise from the stockroom.

The internal investigation confirmed that the woman had printed shipping labels from within the company for packages sold on various online platforms. Security cameras even captured her hiding clothing in her personal bag.

Following the report, officers from the Orihuela Police Station traced the platforms where the woman had sold the stolen items. They found thirty-one active products and over one thousand advertisements, with two hundred and eight confirmed transactions on one website and eight hundred and seventy-eight postings on another. The stolen articles matched products missing from the store since December twenty twenty-one, coinciding with the start of her employment. Consequently, the woman has been taken into custody and presented to the judicial authority in Orihuela, facing charges of continued theft.
