In a recent operation aimed at crime prevention, La Guardia Civil has detained two men aged forty-three and forty-four on suspicion of drug trafficking. The arrests took place in Torrevieja during the early hours of the thirty-first of August, when officers conducted a routine check of vehicles and individuals on one of the town’s main avenues. Upon being signalled to stop, the men exhibited nervous behaviour, raising suspicions among the authorities.

During the inspection, officers observed one of the men attempting to conceal a bag beneath his trousers. When asked to reveal its contents, he hesitated; however, the officers subsequently discovered eighty pieces of pressed hashish within the bag, shaped like acorns. Additionally, a sum of five hundred euros in fifty euro notes was seized during the operation.

Following the incident, both occupants of the vehicle were arrested for the alleged crime of drug trafficking. The total weight of the seized hashish amounted to eight hundred and twenty-one grams. The arrested individuals, along with the seized items and the corresponding reports, have been presented to the Guard Court of the Judicial Party of Torrevieja.

The court has since decided to release the detainees under precautionary measures. This operation highlights the continued efforts of La Guardia Civil to combat drug-related crimes in the region.
