Torrevieja is working diligently to restore normality following the passage of the DANA Alice storm. As of eight o’clock this morning, a yellow alert has been issued, lasting until eight o’clock this evening. Despite the alert, urban transport has resumed fully, and waste collection services have returned to normal. Clean-up teams are actively clearing the most affected areas, including the city centre and suburbs, and work is underway to restore the beaches to their former state.

The city’s Parks and Gardens department is reviewing all potentially affected areas, ensuring that parks are open, and marking areas that are still waterlogged. The Parque de Las Naciones has reopened, though part of its children’s playground remains closed due to water accumulation. Similarly, La Siesta Park is accessible apart from the pump track area, where water is currently being pumped out.

The animal shelter is now operating at full capacity, having cleared excess water and cleaned the premises. All animals are reported to be in good health, thanks to the attention from emergency services. Public lighting disruptions caused by the torrential rain are being addressed, with damaged lights undergoing inspection and repairs throughout the day.

Finally, the mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, has expressed gratitude to local services, including protection civil, the police, and healthcare staff, for their hard work and commitment during this recovery period. He emphasised their professionalism in dealing with the aftermath of DANA Alice, ensuring the community moves towards normalcy as quickly as possible.
