A man was rescued by local authorities after sustaining a head injury while riding a jet ski in Mar Menor. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, October the fifth, following a domestic argument. Reports indicate the injury was caused by a glass bottle. According to municipal sources, a call was made to emergency services about an injured individual aboard a drifting vessel.

The call, received on the emergency hotline, prompted an immediate search and rescue operation. Coordinated by a local police sub-inspector, the rescue team included maritime services from Cruz Roja, local police from Los Alcázares, and the Guardia Civil. The injured man had launched his jet ski from the port of Los Nietos after the argument.

The domestic dispute resulted in a report being filed by the man’s partner with the Guardia Civil, alleging assault. Following extensive search efforts, Cruz Roja personnel located the man approximately three hundred metres from the port, where he was in need of medical attention.

This incident highlights the dangers associated with personal disputes escalating into public situations, especially in maritime settings. The effective collaboration between local police, emergency services, and community organisations ensured a swift response to the incident.
