In a significant operation, the National Police have successfully dismantled an indoor marijuana drying facility in a private home located in Cartagena. The operation, which involved multiple rooms designated for drying marijuana buds, was aimed at catering to a distribution network. This discovery came after police investigation targeted locations suspected of operating such illicit indoor marijuana plantations.

Additionally, police uncovered a fraudulent electricity connection within the premises, which posed a considerable fire risk to the neighbouring community. The operation led to the arrest of twelve individuals, two of whom were minors, and the seizure of more than twenty-six kilograms of marijuana buds in the drying process, as well as nearly fifteen kilograms of marijuana plants and equipment necessary for cultivation, including lamps and ventilation systems.

The National Police collaborated with local authorities to ensure a robust security presence during the operation. Those arrested face charges related to public health offences and electricity fraud. The judicial authority has ordered the immediate provisional imprisonment of the primary suspect in the case.

This action underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug-related activities and ensure community safety in Cartagena.
