The Local Government Council of Torrevieja has announced the approval of a tender for the acquisition of new gym machinery for its municipal sports facilities, namely the Ciudad Deportiva and the La Mata Pavilion. The project is backed by a budget of three hundred and sixty-six thousand one hundred and thirty-seven euros, which includes tax. It is set to last for three months and comes with a two-year warranty, significantly enhancing the overall quality of service provided to users.

Diana Box Alonso, the Municipal Sports Councillor, highlighted that this investment will greatly improve conditions at the Ciudad Deportiva gym, particularly in the racquet zone. The contract not only involves equipment acquisition, but will also see the floor of the gym renewed with specialised technical flooring.

In total, more than thirty new machines are to be purchased, including a wheelchair-accessible machine, bicycles, ellipticals, and spinning equipment. Additional items will include dumbbells, bars, weights, Scott benches, lumbar benches, flat and adjustable benches, chest machines, leg curl and hip extension machines, as well as a dozen additional weight kits.

With this initiative, the Town Hall reaffirms its commitment to accessible and quality sports in Torrevieja, modernising municipal gyms to further promote sporting activities within the community.
