On Sunday, the Guardia Civil and Maritime Captaincy acted at Los Alemanes beach to prevent an illegal gathering of jet ski enthusiasts in the Mar Menor. The Government delegate for the Region of Murcia, Francisco Lucas, announced the intervention via social media. It was also reported that a camping site set up in a protected area of La Manga was dismantled during the operation.

Authorities removed ten nautical vessels and fourteen caravans from the shoreline, with the Guardia Civil providing information to the coastal authorities to take appropriate action. Some participants, who had responded to a call spread through social networks, initially resisted evacuation. However, with the Guardia Civil’s intervention, they ultimately left the area.

Francisco Lucas highlighted that Mar Menor is a natural space, not a racetrack, reiterating the need for preservation in this ecologically sensitive area. He expressed gratitude for the swift actions of the Guardia Civil and the Maritime Captaincy, as well as for the citizen cooperation that helped report the situation.

Lucas underscored that the efforts of citizens are vital for safeguarding our Mar Menor, ensuring the protection of its unique marine environment and wildlife.
