The Almoradí Council has taken swift action to address the precarious situation arisen from the cleaning service provider that has not paid its employees for two months. In response, the council has terminated the contract with the company and confiscated the guarantee it deposited. Immediate measures have been put in place to assist both the affected employees and the local community.

Through the Social Services Department, individual assistance has been offered to the ten impacted workers. The council has directly employed these staff members to secure their employment and ensure cleanliness in all public buildings throughout the municipality, including schools and sports facilities.

Thanks to this intervention, the cleaning services have been maintained at the municipal swimming pools during the summer season, and schools will commence the academic year in optimal hygiene conditions. This decision reflects the council’s commitment to uphold the safety and well-being of both employees and residents.

Furthermore, the council has announced that it is already working on the tendering process for a new cleaning contract to provide a definitive solution for this essential service and ensure the job stability of the employees who have been in service for many years.
