Firefighters from the Alicante Provincial Consortium have successfully gained control over a wildfire that erupted early Thursday morning in La Aparecida, part of the Orihuela municipality. The fire was reported at twelve fifty-nine in the afternoon, following the ignition of dry shrubs near a mountainous area, which quickly spread to the surrounding forest.

By seven ten in the evening, authorities announced that the blaze was under control, although firefighting efforts remain ongoing. Currently, three units from the Generalitat Fire Service are actively working in the area alongside three fire engines, three crews, and two command units from the Consortium.

The fire initially affected a slope and then extended to a pine area as resources were mobilised to combat the flames. An automated dispatch system was activated to ensure a prompt response to the incident. Firefighters continue their work to fully extinguish the remaining hotspots safely.

Such incidents highlight the importance of fire prevention and preparedness, especially during dry conditions which can facilitate rapid fire spread. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to prevent any potential flare-ups.
