The Provincial Traffic Headquarters has urged travellers to plan their journeys in advance as the Summer Return Operation commences today. Authorities anticipate approximately two hundred and twelve thousand movements on the roads of the Region of Murcia throughout the three-day operation, which runs from three o’clock this afternoon until midnight on Sunday, the thirty-first of August.

Nationwide, five million vehicles are expected to contribute to increased traffic flow in regional roads. Virginia Jerez, the Provincial Head of Traffic, recommends that motorists avoid travelling during the busiest times, particularly on Friday between one o’clock and nine o’clock in the evening and on Sunday between ten o’clock and two o’clock in the afternoon, as well as four o’clock to nine o’clock in the evening.

This special operation brings an end to the four major devices deployed by the Traffic Directorate General and the Traffic Unit of the Civil Guard during the summer period. Up until the twenty-sixth of August, four fatalities have been reported on interurban roads, including one car driver, two motorcyclists, and one passenger. This marks nine fewer deaths compared to the same period last year.
