A sixty-seven-year-old man has tragically died after falling from a boat in Lo Pagán, located in San Pedro del Pinatar. The incident occurred shortly before half past six in the evening, with the man’s sons witnessing the fall. They promptly called for emergency assistance. When help arrived, the man had been lifted onto the vessel and was still alive, albeit in a weak state.

Rescue teams transported him by boat to the shore, where he was met by emergency medical personnel from a mobile unit stationed nearby. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, he could not be saved, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation has been taken over by the Guardia Civil, who will take statements from the man’s children to ascertain what transpired at sea.

As per protocol, the deceased has been transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Authorities will investigate whether he drowned or if a pre-existing medical condition contributed to the unfortunate outcome. In cases like this, every death is typically treated as one requiring further investigation.
