Local police in Los Alcázares conducted their regular surveillance and prevention service when they encountered a man riding an electric scooter in the wrong direction. He almost collided with a police vehicle and was seen carrying a petrol canister while operating the scooter. As he posed a danger to other road users, the authorities attempted to pull him over, but he ignored their signal and sped off, leading to a chase through the streets, including gardens and the seafront.

After multiple attempts to apprehend the man, he abandoned his scooter and ran towards the beach, entering the water in an attempt to evade capture. However, four beachgoers, who were present at the time, managed to restrain him and bring him back to shore to be arrested by the police. Upon being taken into custody, the man provided several false identities.

Eventually, he was correctly identified and discovered to be wanted under a detention order. Police later located the petrol canister that he had hidden during his flight. Additionally, nearby, officers found a vehicle that had been tampered with, indicating fuel had been stolen.

This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of local authorities in maintaining public safety, as well as the unexpected intervention of attentive citizens in a critical situation.
