A thirty-four-year-old woman from Murcia tragically lost her life following a severe nautical accident in Jávea, Alicante, on Friday afternoon. The woman had travelled to the coastal town with friends to enjoy a day at sea. The incident occurred in the Cala Portitxol area, popular among tourists for its crystal-clear waters and natural beauty.

Emergency services received a call shortly before eight o’clock in the evening from witnesses aboard the boat. It was reported that the victim had fallen into the water and was subsequently struck by the boat’s propeller. Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene, one from Basic Life Support and another from the Urgent Medical Assistance Service.

Upon arrival, the woman was found with critical injuries to her face and neck, as well as multiple trauma and cardiac arrest. Resuscitation efforts were initiated, and she was stabilised during the transfer to Denia Hospital. Sadly, upon arrival at the hospital, she suffered another cardiac arrest and passed away.

The Guardia Civil has begun an investigation into the circumstances of the accident, which appears to be a tragic mishap involving a boat classified for recreational use. Witnesses reported that after the woman fell overboard, her companions jumped into the water to assist her and managed to bring her back on board before heading to port, where emergency teams provided urgent care. Despite all efforts, the tragedy unfolded a few hours later.
