A thirteen-year-old boy was injured on Thursday afternoon after being attacked by two dogs in the street in San Javier. The boy was walking with a friend when the dogs escaped from a nearby home, leaping over an access fence. Witnesses reported that three large dogs chased the two boys; one managed to escape, but the other fell and was bitten repeatedly on various parts of his body by two of the animals.

Screams from the boy alerted nearby residents, who rushed to help. The son of one resident used a stick to fend off the dogs. The boy sustained injuries to his face, arm, and neck, and emergency services attended the scene before he was rapidly transported to Los Arcos Hospital.

Local police and the Civil Guard arrived at the scene to find that the dogs had escaped from an open entrance where the gate had fallen down. They requested relevant documentation from the dog owners, including health records and liability insurance. A veterinary protocol was initiated to place the animals in quarantine for monitoring.

Witnesses stated that the two dogs involved in the incident belong to breeds classified as potentially dangerous, and they are known in the neighbourhood for previously attacking an eighteen-year-old youth at the end of April. Authorities are urging pet owners to ensure proper containment of animals to prevent such future incidents.
